Havins is a songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist from Austin, TX, but currently is attending school in Boston, MA. Picking up the guitar at the age of nine, he immediately began to write songs and perform. By the age of 12, he was playing shows with a band around the central Texas area. In June of 2012, he was featured on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, but was voted off the show during the Vegas Round. However, he continued to play with his band and write songs, releasing two solo EPs at the ages of 13 and 15. He also led worship for several churches in his home town, and performed at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in 2014.
In high school, Havins developed a collection of honest, emotion-driven songs that conveyed a deeper message than the average teenage songwriter. He took those songs to his band at the time, and the resulting product was a four song EP of Alternative Rock and Americana called, “Dawn.” The EP was released in March of 2017. Later that year, he moved to Boston, MA, to attend Berklee College of Music. Shortly after arriving in Boston, he participated in the ABC reboot of American Idol, and made it to the Hollywood Week round. As well as performing solo Havins, also plays with his band, a collective of talented musicians from all around the world. So far, they have performed in Boston at iconic venues like the DCR Hatch Shell, The Red Room, and the Lilypad. In Summer of 2018, Havins returned to Texas for his first tour, playing a series of shows at venues in Austin and Dallas. In July 2019, after continuing to perform around the Boston area, he dropped his single, "Not My Name," and has plans to release more singles in the Fall.
"This was his first sofar show and he killed it! Everyone was hanging on to every word he sang and his range was incredible and he’s such a wonderful human."
